13. In the New Testament, our Lord taught us how to be nice to our brothers and even to our enemies. However, in the Old Testament, our God let Israel kill so many people. It seems there is a contradiction between the Old and New Testaments.

Answer: After Jesus came to the world, the age of grace began. This is a period of God's special kindness to mankind. God has gone out of His way to treat the people of the world with love and grace. God loves the people of the world and He doesn’t want any one to perish. This period will end at Christ’s Second Coming. He has already given to the world two thousand years to repent. If the people of the world ignore God’s grace and persist in doing evil and in rebellion against Him. The Bible repeatedly warns the people of the world that the Great Judgment will come soon. It is not possible for God to allow Satan, evil spirits and evil people to persist in doing evil in the universe. There is no contradiction between the Old and New Testaments. God is always righteous. He will judge all forms of sin. God, being the sovereign Lord of this universe, has the right to decide when to judge sin. (G. Lee)
