21.I've yet to get a clear-cut answer to this question, Jesus went through the burial process, and we are supposed to follow his example because he is the way, the truth and the life. So what is the justification for cremation since our bodies are not our own to do with as we please, but the temple of God?

Answer: It is good to follow Jesus' example in the burial process. But we should not be judgmental toward those who practice cremation. We don't find any where in the bible that says cremation is a sin. It doesn't affect the future resurrection of the body because God is the God of atoms. May be one can find the justification of cremation in typology. The Old Testament burnt offerings were totally consumed by fire to show God's acceptance of the sacrifices (Gen. 15:17; Lev. 1:9).

There are some practical reasons for using cremation. Many people cannot afford the burial costs in nowadays. Places like Hong Kong don't have enough land for burial.

Sincerely,

Gershom Lee
